Individual Therapy

I want to collaborate with you to better understand your past and present experiences. From there, we will see how they’re affecting your life options, choices, and decisions.

Let’s start you on the path to feeling better.

Types of Therapy

Grief & Loss Therapy

Losing someone we love is never something we will "get over." It's life-changing, some might say, life-shattering. Going to speak with a trained professional will not bring a miraculous healing, a quick fix, or a way to make the pain lessen.

There is not a specific timeline, but what therapy can do is bring structure to a non-sensical situation, help you to pick up some of the pieces that have been shattered, and gently guide you in the direction of finding purpose in life again. All while we honor the relationship you have with the person who is now gone.

This kind of therapy utilizes psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, CBT, DBT, and narrative therapy. It’s most important to me that you just feel held, seen, and witnessed during this painful time in your life.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is a structured approach that focuses on understanding and changing both how you think (“cognitive”) and what you do (“behavior”) in order to resolve current life difficulties and reduce psychological symptoms and distress, especially anxiety.

Whether you’ve struggled with anxiety your entire life or it’s from a specific situation, CBT provides a new way of understanding and approaching your problems. This form of therapy also targets making changes in the unhealthy patterns that maintain your problems.

This will be a team effort as we help you move out of a “stuck” place of negative thought patterns.

Life Transitions Therapy

I am excited to be offering a more strategic way of working together. This is for anyone who is looking for help in making a transition in their life-- whether having to do with your career, home relocation, relationship challenges, and accountability for goal setting.

Within this way of working together, I am more solution oriented, and the work is interactive towards getting you to where you want to be without the added layers of psychotherapy. Having a clinical background with a more laser-focused approach can help you to get where you want to go and feel how you want to be feeling with a more direct approach.

These sessions are offered in person and online.

Trauma-Informed Therapy

This approach to therapy that recognizes and emphasizes understanding how a traumatic experience impacts someone’s mental, behavioral, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. Trauma Informed Therapy helps us to understanding the connection between the trauma experience and our emotional/behavioral responses.

The purpose of this type of therapy is to offer you skills and strategies to help you better understand, cope with, and process emotions and memories tied to traumatic experiences.

The end goal enables you to create a healthier and more tolerable meaning of the experience that took place in your life.

My Approach to Therapy

I know it’s not easy to even start the search for someone to help you through your hardest times, so I appreciate the time you’re taking to be here with me right now.

I treat individuals going through loss and grief, as well as life transitions of all kinds. I strive to provide hope, encouragement, occasional humor, and steadfast support as you navigate life's challenges and tragedies that have been put in your path. Even if the pain of your experience has no timeline or certain trajectory, I believe there is a need for a sense of agency during a time in one’s life that feels intolerable— specialized grief-informed therapy can help with this.

I imagine you want to feel like you are “ok”, but you've lost your sense of balance and certainty in this world. Maybe you're going through a major life transition, like ending a relationship, moving to a new city, or starting a new career. Maybe you are trying to decide what's next for you after a series of difficult endings.

Even the most welcome of changes come with their share of challenges, or maybe you find yourself in the same old patterns ending up in the same old place over and over without a clear idea of how to make lasting changes. I want to help you make the changes in yourself and in your life so that you feel more steady, more focused, and better able to manage each challenge you face.

Meditation and mindfulness, for the cultivation of steadiness, presence, and insight, has been an essential part of my own life and daily practice for over 15 years. I have a keen interest in the intersections between psychotherapy and spirituality, and the gifts that each of these fields can offer each other (and to my clients).

I truly admire your willingness to embark on the courageous journey toward transformation and healing, and am honored to stand beside you in your quest for meaning, happiness and a life that feels fulfilling as you move forward.

Fees & What to Expect

After a brief phone conversation, we can meet to talk through the things that have brought you to therapy in more detail, and see how we might work together. There is, of course, no obligation to decide one way or another then and there – it is important that you take time and ensure you make the right choice for you.  We may, however, choose to look at possible on-going session times and rates to allow you to make an informed choice about whether you would like to continue.

If you do wish to move forward with me we will then confirm a regular time to meet for a weekly 45-minute session.

At this time, I am no longer taking insurance. I am an out-of-network provider on many PPO insurance panels. My fee ($275/per session) is an up-front cost to you, but should you choose to work with me, it is possible you will be reimbursed after you submit a monthly super bill to your insurance company. I recommend you call and speak with an insurance representative about your out-of-network coverage.
